CBS News did a lengthy piece on a proposed law in Virginia which would require a woman to undergo an ultrasound before obtaining an abortion, a law which has since been dropped.
CBS went into a great deal of detail about the proposed law, and gave the distinct impression that it was something new and revolutionary. It is not. No fewer than seven states already have such laws, and both Texas and Oklahoma (you can figure it would be them) require the viewing screen to be placed where the woman must view it. The proposed Virginia law did not require that.
