The
San Diego Union-Tribune had a couple of headlines on the front page yesterday, pretty much side-by-side, that caught my eye. The first had to do with the city school system facing drastic cutbacks due to falling tax revenues and the loss of state funding, and the other had to do with the Mayor going forward with a $800 million plan to build a football stadium for the Chargers, which would cost the city taxpayers $38 million per year. I’m pretty sure the management of the San Diego Chargers was not too thrilled by the juxtaposition of those two headlines.
