The Republican wingnut proposal to cut the top tax rate to 25% is causing reactions alternating between howls of laughter and screeching outrage from the left. In fairness to the Republican wingnuts, it should be noted that they are also proposing to eliminate all deductions of every type.
To the discredit of the Democratic wingnuts, they seem always to mention the first fact and omit the second.
How the Republican proposal actually works out, I have no idea. But the argument against it that consists merely of hooting at half of the proposal is clearly dishonest, and it reflects more discredit upon those who use that repugnant tactic than it does on the opponents they are trying to put down.
