Perspicacity in Reportage

During the NASCAR race yesterday a reporter came up to the crew chief of the driver who was leading the race and asked, "How does your driver plan to handle this restart? What is his plan?"

I so wanted that crew chief to reply, "Well, it's a tough decision, but we're thinking he might press the freaking gas pedal real hard."

Some reporters can't help it; they are just morons.

I would love it if the crew chiefs started asking the reporters the same sort of non-sensical questions back at them.

"How do you plan to get that microphone and your head out of your backside?" "Have you always been this stupid or did you have to go to a special school to learn that?" "Does your mother know you're a reporter or does she still think you're a piano player at a cat house?" A few questions like that along pit road and they'd quit asking those stupid questions week in-week out.

or at least they wouldn't ask those people those questions.

If a lot of people started to respond that way maybe some sense would get back into 'reporting'.

And yes a lot of reporters are morons. Thank you that I'm not the only one who thinks this.
