from space

After 46 years we seem to be doing the same thing and, while it's a bit on the trivial side, we're using the same type of helicopter to do it?

Update, Monday, 10:15pm: I was not actually intending to imply criticism. The CH-46 Sea Knight is a fine bird. Like the B-52, which we are also still using in quantity, it was built by Boeing back when that company was run by engineers rather than by bookkeepers.

  1. I saw the Kabul picture and instantly thought "Saigon", um no there is Arabic script signs in the background. And the buildings are slightly different. But the whole scene is startlingly familiar.

As for the helicopter, we we've used B52 as well, but with somewhat updated weapons. We don't have Star Trek transporter pads quite yet.

  2. I probably should have been more specific that I wasn't necessarily being critical. The CH-46 is a really fine bird, as is the BUFF. Both were made by Boeing back in the days when that company was run by engineers rather than by bookkeepers.
